I’m a sponsored blog partner with Spherion (a staffing and recruiting organization) and am participating in the release of findings from Spherion’s upcoming Emerging Workforce Study.  All opinions are mine.

Last week I shared with you a cool infographic and some interesting statistics pulled from Spherion’s soon-to-be-released study on emerging workforce trends. In conjunction with the study’s release, Spherion is also launching a new “Job or Career?” quiz to provide workers information on how they tend to view their current employment situation.

Here’s the lowdown on the quiz and why you might want to consider taking it:

Who Should Take the Quiz?

The quiz is designed for business professionals, HR practitioners, employers, and others who want to educate themselves about applicable career topics.

Why Is “Job or Career” an Important Distinction?

As a business professional, you spend many of your waking hours at work. So it’s important to know if your daily activities are fulfilling your work goals. This quiz, based on 15 years of research conducted by Spherion, will help you figure out if you are in a job or a career, and what steps to take to better improve your work life.

What’s In It for Me?

Aside from the insights you’ll gain from considering the quiz questions, there may be some money in it for you as well. (Ah, at last I have your full attention!)

By taking the quiz on here on The People Equation you will be entered to win a $100 American Express gift card! Simply post your results from the quiz as a comment on this post to enter. Taking the quiz will also enter commenters to win one of three Career Boost Business Packs from Spherion that include an iPad Air and an assortment of other office essentials to help on your path to success! (Sweepstakes ends 3/27/14.)

Feeling shy about divulging if you have a “job” or “career”? You can still participate – just enter one key insight you had from taking the quiz and you’ll still be eligible to win.

I will select one name using an online random name selector and notify the winner via the email address provided when you submit your answer in the comments section.

Jennifer, Did YOU Take the Quiz?

Dear reader, of course. I always conduct due diligence before passing information along to you. It’s about a three-minute time commitment to take the quiz, and it’s another minute or two to post your comment on my site.

Happy quiz-taking! I look forward to seeing what the quiz reveals for you . . .

Not at all surprised! I LOVE what I do. I can’t imagine there would be anything better, but I am always open to the possibility!

I’m career minded. Not too surprising.

I am career minded – not a shock at all since I love to learn and expand both my mind and skills! I recently started a new job doing something new and I am loving all that I learn every day. For the first time ever I am not directly managing people and I have been shocked that I am actually enjoying being “responsible” for myself solo for a change. I do need to use my skills to influence and convince others which is more timely and challenging!

Career-minded, that’s me!
