The following story is true; a few details have been altered to change the identities of those involved. This one left me shaking my head in disbelief.
I have a friend (“Krista”) who transferred from one division of her large multinational organization to another. This promotion required relocation to another country. As the transfer progressed, Krista had some HR-related questions. So she emailed the HR contact in charge of coordinating Krista’s move.
Krista emailed several times over the course of a few weeks. She got no response. She tried calling. Again, no response.
About three weeks into her move, she made one last attempt to contact HR. At last! She received a response. It said:
I have left the company. Please contact my counterpart [Name] at [phone number] to receive assistance.
This, ladies and gentleman is just another example of why people hate HR. In this case, can you blame Krista?
