Does your boss care if you’re late to work?
If he or she is a “manage by the whites of their eyes” type boss, then most likely the answer is yes. However, it’s more likely that if you work in an office environment, your boss will grant you some flexibility in the name of work-life integration.
The social media site Mashable reports on a study by data-protection company Mozy, claiming that 73% of bosses don’t care if office workers are late. That’s good news, right?
Well, maybe. And maybe not. That flexibility comes with a price – the same study also reported that about 15% of U.S. bosses said they feel comfortable contacting and/or calling employees up to 9:00 p.m. at night.
Is this a trade off you are willing to make?

Hi
I think it depends on the frequency of late-coming days and keeping the boss posted on late coming so that he can plan accordingly.
I have always been flexible with my team members as long as they kept me informed and have put in extra effort to complete tasks on schedule or stretched themselves the previous day.
But, if some of the teams need all the team members to be present to execute tasks, I have always insisted them to be on time and no leeway was allowed.

My goodness, it’s been *forever*. How did you find me?
I will take your advice about the email. . .am notifying my technical guru Mike to ask him how to add a “share” button for email.
Take care!

Camille,
It’s done- you can now share via email. It’s the blue @ sign on the right hand side of the “share” icons. Thanks for the suggestion!
