Sneak peek time:
I just finished a great author interview and will soon publish a full blog post on it. In the meantime, here’s a quick summary:
I interviewed Guy Harris, co-author of the book From Bud to Boss: Secrets to a Successful Transition to Remarkable Leadership. Guy, along with Kevin Eikenberry, has written a very comprehensive look at what it takes to successfully transition from individual contributor to a leadership role.
We had a widely varied conversation, which brought out these interesting tidbits and more:
- How to become the world’s worst Sales Manager over night
- What an “interested party” is and why a new supervisor needs to talk with them
- The difference between manipulation and influence
I’ll be posting the full interview on my blog shortly, but until then, you can check out what others are saying about the new book at the site’s The Buzz page. The book launches February 15, 2011.
Kevin and Guy have created a great community dedicated to helping new and aspiring leaders grow. It’s called budtobosscommunity.com.
And, if you’re a leadership blogger, they’re making it real easy to feed your leadership posts into the site to help educate this new community. If you’re interested, check out their syndication page.
Stay tuned!
